TempText uses end-to-end encryption to ensure your text is secure. Your data is encrypted before it leaves your browser and can only be decrypted by those who have the unique link. We never store your text in plain format.
You can set custom expiry times for your text. Options range from 1 hour to 30 days. Once expired, your text is permanently deleted from our servers and cannot be recovered.
No! You can use TempText without creating an account. However, creating a free account allows you to track your shared texts, manage expiry settings, and access your dashboard.
Currently, you can share up to 10,000 characters per text. This is sufficient for most use cases including code snippets, passwords, notes, and short documents.
Yes! You can set a maximum view count for your text. Options include 1 view (burn after reading), 5, 10, 50, 100 views, or unlimited. Once the view limit is reached, the text is automatically deleted.
After your text expires (either by time or view count), it is permanently and securely deleted from our servers. We do not keep backups or archives of expired content.
No, once a text is shared, it cannot be edited. However, you can delete it before it expires (if you have an account) and create a new one with updated content.
Yes! TempText is completely free to use. We may introduce premium features in the future, but all core functionality including end-to-end encryption and auto-expiry will remain free.
After creating your text, you'll receive a unique 6-character code and a shareable link. You can also generate a QR code for easy mobile sharing. Simply share the link or code with your intended recipients.
Yes! TempText is perfect for sharing sensitive information like passwords. Use the 'burn after reading' option (1 view limit) combined with a short expiry time for maximum security.
Absolutely! TempText is fully responsive and works seamlessly on all devices including smartphones, tablets, and desktops. You can even install it as a Progressive Web App (PWA) on your mobile device.
End-to-end encryption means your text is encrypted on your device before being sent to our servers. Only those with the unique link can decrypt and read the content. Even we (TempText) cannot read your encrypted text.
